By invitation of NTGent, Tim Etchells, founder of Forced Entertainment, is the fifth theatre creator to look back on (his) theatre history.

In How Goes the World, four performers come and go in a confused succession of roles, costumes, set changes and lighting effects. Butlers, messengers, soldiers, doctors, lovers, murderers, dancers, drunkards and innocents: all are present, along with queens and kings in ripped robes, lamenting their fate in the fake snow that flutters down somewhere between the bookcase, the coffee table, the dead tree and the ironing board. A storm, outside. A war in the distance. The sound of applause.
