Voiceless figures tell of the (inner) violence visited upon them; the monster is not the executioner, but the one subjected to the violence.
Does the mask serve as protection, or as a second skin that breathes with the wearer? Do we recognise the human, or are they reduced to a pile of flesh?

Tristis is Ferenc Balcaen’s master thesis assignment. With his team, he researches how the human body can transform. They got their mustard from Hieronymus Bosch’ ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’, transforming the painting into scenes and figures that exceed the norm. The main themes in this creation are gender, violence, transgression and sexuality.
Extra
We hebben al een deel financiering gekregen vanuit de school, maar met het geld dat we via deze crowdfunding krijgen willen we zowel het decor als de kostuums bijwerken om onze voorstelling naar een hoger niveau te tillen. In juni spelen we voor de eerste keer in een grote zaal en hopen we met de extra financiering daar te kunnen staan met een voorstelling waar we trots op kunnen zijn. Daarnaast willen we met dit geld ook een eerlijke vergoeding voorzien voor iedereen die hier aan meegewerkt heeft. Elke extra cent kan hiertoe bijdragen.
