After a run of performances in Montevideo, Madrid and on a variety of Belgian stages, L’Homme de La Mancha was meant to make appearances this summer at Theater aan Zee and at Festival au Carré in Mons. Unfortunately, a virus decided otherwise and incapacitated the entire sector. Playing L’Homme de La Mancha at full force is impossible for the time being, but we still want to give you an opportunity to experience the beauty of this creation. That’s why we’re presenting this stripped-back version – back to basics! Just the way it once began. Unplugged, but with our wonderful cast and conductor Bassem Akiki. 

We will be performing the libretto reading just once on the back square of KVS BOL during KVS BREAKS OUT. Because the story is a perfect fit for these scary times, and because the star cast is buzzing to perform for you again. Let us dream together.

A libretto reading? A genre of its own: consider it an alternative, staged and light-hearted introduction to opera. The actors play through the entire piece with the book in hand. But don’t expect a dry, academic reading: this will be a fun and original way to get immersed in the universe of L’Homme de La Mancha.
