Starting in March, laGeste will create its new performance Badke(remix). It is a new version of Badke (2013 – 2016), created by two Palestinian choreographers: Amir Sabra and Ata Khatab. The title is a deliberate reversal of dabke, the name of the Palestinian folk dance that forms the basis of the performance. With backgrounds in traditional dabke, contemporary dance, hip-hop, capoeira, and circus, Palestinian performers present a contemporary version of this dance, traditionally linked to (wedding) celebrations. Badke(remix) showcases the vitality of life and the joy of dance as a form of resistance.

The second session of rehearsals, just before the premiere on 11 June, will take place at the KVS in Brussels, from 2 June to 14 June 2025. Since staying overnight in Brussels has become unaffordable, we are looking for several places to stay near KVS or at least easily accessible by public transport.

Who can offer these exceptional artists a warm, cozy place with breakfast? laGeste will provide compensation for breakfast. We hope for a warm welcome to Brussels for these talented dancers.
