OPPORTUNITIES: debate

For the past six years, KVS has been part of OPPORTUNITIES, an incredible European consortium of NGOs and universities who want to think about migration together. From Accra in Ghana to Dakar, Ghent, and Paris, we travelled in search of new ways to engage with each other in equal, human ways, and to stop looking at everything only through European eyes. These were very educational years for the partners, and with the end in sight, it’s time to let our imaginations do the work and to apply some art to reality. At the end of the ride, KVS is creating a production that will be performed in six (European) countries, in collaboration with partners small and large, within and far outside of Europe.

Hannibal is an international collaboration between KVS and Théâtre de Liège, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (Barcelona), Théâtre National Daniel Sorano (Dakar) and Festival O (Rotterdam). After the world premiere in Brussels, the production tours five cities in Senegal, Valchiusella, Rotterdam, and Paris, where it will be performed each time with local dancers, actors, and musicians.

On January, 31,  2025, OPPORTUNITIES will highlight the various ways in which the ‘level telling field’ was put to use: besides research, we will showcase migrant stories, documentaries, TikTok videos, drawings, … at a collective closing ceremony for the project.
