11:00 > 11:30: Work In Progress "Propaganda" by Ana Luz Ormazábal
In this Chilean-German production, Ana Luz Ormazábal explores the concept of propaganda from various artistic perspectives, analyzing its historical evolution and current impact on political and electoral discourse worldwide. With six actors on stage, this performance aims to expand our critical view of (dis)information by investigating how propaganda techniques shape perceptions and sustain power dynamics across cultures and historical periods. Propaganda is a co-production between the Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral (Chile) and the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg (Germany), premiering in October 2025 at the Theater of Heidelberg.
11:30 – 12:00: 10 min break + after talk with Ana Luz Ormazábal
12:00 – 12:20: Talk “La Noche de Aparición” with Désirée 0100 & Luis Miguel Ramirez Muñoz
Désirée 0100 and Luis Miguel Ramirez Muñoz share the concept, development, and inspiration behind their upcoming project La Noche de Aparición (The Night of the Apparition), set to premiere in September 2025. This will be the duo’s second creation: a clown and dance performance for three dancers. The piece will explore Mexican horror aesthetics through three chapters inspired by real folk tales.
12:30 – 13:00: Work In Progress “Qué funcione” by Lucia Giannoni (performance)
This project centers on the concept of "belonging"—as an act of survival, as a process of identity formation. It is a performative exploration of social identity and coexistence, a sociological study, an empirical test, and live fieldwork in a theatrical form. Emphasizing diversity and the deconstruction of hegemonic structures, the project highlights the similarities, tensions, and opportunities that arise when people come together. What part of ourselves do we leave behind to belong? And what would we not want—or be able—to give up to fit in?
13:00 – 13:30: 10 min break + after talk with Lucia Giannoni
13:30 > 14:30: Lunch
14:30 > 14:50: Talk "LA RUMBA INTERCONTINENTAL" with Junior Akwety & Enrique (Kike) Noviello
LA RUMBA INTERCONTINENTAL is an international project that uses the cultural phenomenon of Rumba as a basis to develop a participatory methodology for intercultural community building. Junior and Enrique actively connect Rumbero communities across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, exploring the unique cultural aspects of this art form and its potential for cultural participation.
15:00 > 15:30: Work In Progress "The Contemporary Political Landscape" by Rodrigo Batista & Mariana Senne (18+)
Rodrigo Batista and Mariana Senne present a series of theatrical improvisations tied to the first episode of their project The Contemporary Political Landscape. Drawing on the idea of theater as a tool to imagine and influence perceptions of reality, Rodrigo’s recent research reflects on an assumed contemporary reality (or realism), born in the postmodern era and shaped by six decades of neoliberal influence. This regime, marked by deceptive promises of free markets, individual subjectivity, and privatization of life, has created a landscape dominated by collective hallucinations that challenge established notions of truth and cast a pervasive shadow of doubt over shared beliefs.
15:40 > 16:00: Talk with Rodrigo Batista & Mariana Senne
16:00 > 16:30: Closing remarks
