A captivating theater performance that blends sincerity, humor, poetry, and spirituality to shed light on often forgotten historical narratives.

Hafsa and Kairy tell their stories, both real and fictional, with sincerity and humor, along with the story of Omar Ibn Saïd, a scholar from Futa Toro, in present-day Senegal, who was enslaved in the United States in the 18th century.

Using the autobiography of Omar Ibn Saïd, written in Arabic and subject to various translations and interpretations, they explore themes of identity and ethnic and cultural diversity on stage, while addressing issues of racism, discrimination, and unequal opportunities.

The performance is multilingual and subtitled. Different languages, whether native, intellectual, or imposed, are central to this show, both as a means of expression and as an element of identity formation.
