In his one man show Dedication, Roger Peltzman, renowned pianist from New York, brings the tragic account of his family, who tried to flee war-torn Brussels to escape the nazis. He does so with plenty of drama, humour, powerful imagery, and music from blues to Chopin.

Peltzman was drawn into this story of people he has never known and developed a ‘bond’ with his uncle, Norbert Stern, a brilliant pianist who was murdered in Auschwitz at the age of 21. Peltzman experienced the genetic nature of Holocaust trauma first-hand and shares how he, as a second-generation survivor, has given a place to this trauma and how music has helped him to soften wounds that can never fully heal.
