GERARDO SALINAS

Gerardo Salinas is stadsdramaturg bij KVS. 

Gerardo Salinas werd geboren in Buenos Aires, Argentinië, waar hij literatuur studeerde aan de Universiteit van Buenos Aires. Later werkte hij als redacteur en eindredacteur mee aan verschillende projecten en publicaties. Hij neemt actief deel aan de strijd en rechtszaken tegen de laatste Argentijnse dictatuur en publiceerde – 1 (2010, gedichten en essays) en El Cañón de Vladivostok (2012, roman) voor Editorial Clase Turista. 

Sinds 2002 is hij actief in het artistieke veld in België, waar hij sociaal-cultureel werk studeerde (KHL). 

Hij werkte mee aan CORDOBA, een initiatief van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap om mensen met diverse culturele achtergrond te werk te stellen op stafniveau in culturele organisaties en specialiseerde zich in coöperatief werken en veranderingsprocessen binnen organisaties. Zo creëerde hij initiatieven als Dialectica (leertraject voor instellingen en middenveldorganisaties), Murga Traject (netwerk van wijkgebonden straatgezelschappen), MAF (Mestizo Arts Festival), WIPCOOP (Work In Progress COÖPeratie) en PRÓXIMAMENTE (coöperatief platform van artiesten en organisaties uit Latijns-Amerika en diaspora). Met behulp van concepten als nieuwe stedelijkheid ( 2007), Sociale Technologieën (2007) en Stadsdramaturgie (2011) ontwikkelde hij zijn eigen instrumentatrium om zijn praktijk te definiëren en te ontwikkelen.

Als dramaturg was hij mede verantwoordelijk voor o.a. Dear Winnie, L’Homme de La Mancha, Who’s Tupac?, Drarrie In De Nacht, en Vaderlandloos. Daarnaast ontwikkelde hij installaties, tentoonstellingen en performances rond immateriëel erfgoed zoals het Altaar van Antwerpen (MAS, sinds 2012 tot nu), MURAL (2015), PLAYLIST (2020), MAPping (Mechelen, Antwerpen en Brussel) en Colección (2021). Hij werkte in het verleden voor cultuurhuis de Warande, filmfestival Open Doek, Arenbergschouwburg en Mestizo Arts Festival. Op dit moment maakt hij deel uit van de artistieke staf van KVS als stadsdramaturg.
