Pleins feux sur les paillettes et le monde mystérieux des sosies d’artistes, ces doubles de popstars célèbres. Pour rendre hommage aux vedettes du show business, iels incarnent leurs idoles jusque dans les moindres détails : leurs gestes, leurs expressions, leurs voix et leurs costumes. 

Claire Cunningham, s’identifiant comme artiste et chorégraphe porteuse d’un handicap, nous invite à découvrir ce monde singulier. Elle s’empare du phénomène des artistes sosies pour s’interroger sur les notions d’identité, d’acceptation et le défi que constitue le fait d’être soi-même, en compagnie d’artistes également porteur·euses de handicaps. Qui tentons-nous d’être tout au long de notre vie ? S’agit-il d’un véritable choix ?

Habillé de costumes scintillants, l’ensemble adopte la perspective du sosie pour déconstruire le mythe du corps idéal et contester, avec l’humour qui caractérise Cunningham, la perception sociale de la normalité. Une performance enjouée et originale qui oscille entre joie et désespoir, réflexion et émotion. Existe-t-il un défi plus grand dans la vie que celui d’être soi ?
