B**** is an homage to the archetype of the woman with multiple powers. A journey through the history of wounded women and tortured and disowned mothers. A solo in striptease mode, a revelation of the masks we wear.
The performance also explores the shadow side of our selves via a walk through the various phases of life and also what comes at the end: death, the spirit realm and rebirth.
Chiem developed this project as part of WIPCOOP 2019, a yearly event where KVS opens its rehearsal rooms and stage to young talent.
Brussels artist Yipoon Chiem combines influences from martial arts like kung fu, classic Khmer dance, hip-hop and breakdance, and interweaves these into a highly idiosyncratic style.
