Sofie Palmers & Nele Van Den Broeck

With In de Coulissen, Sofie Palmers and Nele Van Den Broeck create an intimate portrait of their deepest thoughts and contemplations as they entrust them to each other in letters. Nele and Sofie dive deep into the backstage of their selves and talk about it with humour, music, compassion and a disarming honesty. 

In De Coulissen is a light-hearted performance about our dark sides. The things that are normally left in the dressing room are now brought to the stage in a mix of stand-up, theatre and music. With nothing but a piano and a microphone, Sofie surrenders to a sensitive and humorous self-portrait. A plea for mildness. 

Sofie Palmers graduated from the Maastricht Toneelacademie in 2009. She has since been a guest actor for multiple companies. Sofie also writes and creates her own performances. In 2018 she wrote and performed Den beer heeft mij gezien, a performance for which she went to Russia for two weeks with a group of colleagues. 

Sofie appeared on screen in amongst others De Helaasheid der Dingen, En toen kwam ons ma binnen, Zuidflank, Safety First, Vermist and Callboys.
Nele Van Den Broeck graduated as a Master in Drama from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent in 2011. She writes and directs her own plays and also acts in other productions (including for KVS, Kaaitheater and Tristero).
