WeMetInBrxlss

Based on improvisation, literature and newspaper clippings, “Winter is Coming” is about four people living in the same building in Brussels––an old house. An activist, a spinster, a hipster, and a career-chaser ... Each character is locked in their own world in a singular way, and each suffers from a unique kind of loneliness. One is aware of it, one fights it, another chooses to do nothing, yet another denies it completely. Time goes on, seasons change, and it gets colder and colder in the building. Fate and fortune bring these seemingly disconnected tenants together after an unexpected encounter in the hallway.

WeMetInBrxlss is a five-person art and performance collective in Brussels: Emilie Van Daele, Kadishja Boujnane, Xiaoxing Xing, Octavia De Buysscher, and Anneleen Persyn. They have collaborated previously in productions at Wisper, Opendoek, and D°eFFekt, among others. This is their first collaboration that Emilie Van Daele will direct and produce, while the others make their own individual creative and technical contributions.
