Nadine Baboy

Nadine Baboy is een Belgisch-Congolese artieste met een passie voor podiumkunsten. Als danseres, choreografe, actrice en dichteres haalt ze haar inspiratie uit artistieke en culturele mengvormen.

Ze werkte mee aan verschillende danstheaterprojecten waarin beweging en woord samensmelten. Zo schitterde ze o.a. in de musical L’Homme de La Mancha van KVS en De Munt en in het samenwerkingsproject Just as Long as You Are There. Haar passie voor dans vertaalt zich in een hybride vorm die verschillende hiphop-, dancehall- en hedendaagse afro-stijlen vermengt. In haar krachtige teksten snijdt ze frappante thema’s aan die een link leggen tussen haar Afrikaanse roots en haar Europese verankering.

In 2019 schreef, creëerde en choreografeerde ze de voorstelling Desintégration culturelle, een mengeling van poëzie, muziek en dans die een nieuw licht werpt op métissage en die vanwege het grote succes in het voorjaar van 2022 nogmaals terugkomt naar KVS.
