Hamlet Encounters (try-out)
This performance is not a new version of the play Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Instead it reconstructs the actual out-of-joint world he lived in. Hamlet Encounters juxtaposes particular scenes of Hamlet with scientific and historical simulations, mixing 3D and Virtual Reality with theatre and live-enactments with the audience. In this futuristic exploration of living history directors Eric Joris en KVS-face Mesut Arslan draw a parallel from the ethical dilemma of Hamlet to our position today: How to act ethically in a world full of conflict when we are all determined by our cultural mind-sets?
